Coordination Meeting: Resettlement of IDPs and closure of temporary IDP camps

Rakhine State’s state-level work committee on resettlement of IDPs and closure of temporary IDP camps held a coordination meeting on Friday.

In the meeting at the state government office, Chairman of the Committee Chief Minister Dr. Aung Kyaw Min said that since stability has been restored in Rakhine State, the national strategy for the resettlement of IDPs and closure of temporary IDP camps must continue.

Ethnic people who were temporarily displaced from Myebon, Ann and Kyauktaw townships have been brought back to their original places. 500,000 Kyats was provided to each of those ethnic households. He urged officials to follow the guidelines of the Government in implementation of the resettlement of IDPs and closure of temporary IDP camps processes.

And, attendees made explanations on formation of working committees and their work, ongoing processes and plans. Chairman of the Committee concluded the meeting after coordinating the discussions.
