The Chinese city of Wuhan where COVID-19 was first detected three years ago is again experiencing a surge in the virus.

Just weeks after China announced a major easing of its rigid “zero-COVID” restrictions, people are becoming ill from the virus in the city.

According to Sky News, queues of people have been lining up at fever clinics to get advice or medicines whilst lines of ambulances have been seen dropping off the sick at hospitals. It’s difficult to know the exact infection count or how high or low the death rate has been. Deaths that occur in patients with pre-existing illnesses are not counted as COVID-19 deaths.
