








The opening ceremony of Myanmar Disaster Response Team Training Batch-3 organized by the department of disaster management was attended by the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine, deputy minister U Aung Tun Khaing, permanent secretary, director generals, deputy director generals, officials, invited guests and trainees from Aureum Palace Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw and the Executive Director Mr. Lee Yam Ming and officials from AHA Centre.
In her speech of greeting, the union minister said that this training is opened focusing on those who are carrying out the natural disaster management in Kachin State to collaborate with Myanmar disaster response group if the natural disasters break out in Kachin State and the development of human resources regarding the natural disaster. Myanmar Disaster Response Team was formed to effectively perform the emergency responses starting from 2021. Myanmar has signed the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER). AADMER is being implemented with the cooperation with ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management-ACDM and the department of disaster management is conducting as Focus point of ACDM etc.
The deputy minister said that the ministry is implementing to mitigate the losses due to the disasters with the coordination of related ministries, regions and states governments, civil society organizations and well wishers in momentum. The most of the trainees are participating in the civil society organizations and are being expected to facilitate relevant township and region etc.
Next, the Executive Director Mr.Lee Yam Ming from AHA Centre gave a remark regarding with the training. Myanmar Disaster Response Team Training Batch-3 will take place from 12th to 17th December, it’s learnt.
