







Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin addressed the awareness talks on Human Trafficking Prevention and Drug Prevention.
In his address at the University of Yenangyaung, the Chief Minister stressed that the Central Committee on Human Trafficking Prevention was established on February 11, 2006.
In the world today, Southeast Asian countries are the most affected by human trafficking. The danger of human trafficking is the destruction of the human race and the depletion of human resources.
According to an intergovernmental agreement between Myanmar and neighboring Thailand, to obtain basic labor rights and to prevent human trafficking, people smuggling and illegal border crossings, temporary passports are being issued at foreign employment supervision offices in border towns.
The Chief Minister also urged attendees to cooperate and fight against human trafficking. And, the awareness talks began with explanation on prevention of human trafficking and drug prevention, screening videos and distributing leaflets.
