Bilateral Cooperation: Myanmar, UN exchange views in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim in Myanmar Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishnan.

During the meeting at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday, the two sides exchanged views on the status of the ministry's close cooperation with UN agencies, arrangements for visas and stay permits for foreign employees of the United Nations agencies and the necessary procedures to facilitate these arrangement, United Nations agencies’ cooperation on humanitarian activities in Myanmar and plans for further cooperation and the UNFPA’s assistance on Myanmar’s census statistics and plans for further cooperation.
