Coordination Meeting: Resettelement of displaced persons in Kachin State

A working coordination meeting on implementing the tasks as much as possible according to the priority level for the resettlement of displaced persons in Kachin State and findings on closing IDP camps  was held at the Kachin State Government Office on Thursday.

At the meeting, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan said that there are work programs concerning the National Strategic plan for the resettlement of internally displaced persons and closing IDP camps and called for giving suggestions on the recommendations of the inspection teams on reviewing the IDPs camps.

He stressed the needs on creating job employments in addition to the resettlement of displaced persons in the state. The Deputy Ministers for Border Affairs and the Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement also discussed the prioritized work programs including the National Strategic Plan on the resettlement of displaced people in the state and closure IDP camps, their place of orgin and work programs to provide assistance for communal living.

Officials also reported their sector-wise implementations. In response to the reports, the Chief Minister called for implementing the tasks as much as possible in this open season by engaging among each other.
