Preparations Underway: Electricity supply for 75th Independence Day celebrations

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han inspected preparations for the continuous electricity supply during the 75th Independence Day celebrations on the 4th of January 2023.

The Union Minister visited sites including places where guests will stay and honor dinner ceremony, commemorative booths and traditional foods stalls will be set and inspected the preparation conditions.

After hearing reports, the Union Minister called on concerned officials to install additional 200 MVA transformer in addition to 315 MVA transformer, to clear branches of trees near the power line, to prevent fire around auxiliary generators and transformers, to test auxiliary generators at full load and to reconnect and transmit power through the backup power grid in case of power outages.

The Union Minister also stressed that he will inspect these preparation conditions for the 2nd time before the celebrations.
