Marine Products Export :Taninthayi Region exported over157 million USDworth products

During the 8-month period of current fiscal years from April to November, Taninthayi Region have received over 143 million dollars from the direct export of marine products to the foreign markets.

Moreover, the region earnedover 14 million dollars from the exportsvia Yangon.

Director, Department of Fisheries (Taninthayi), Aung Nyi Toe, said " There are 3 outlets for exports of marine products including Dawei, Myeik and Kawthoung Districts. Among them, Kawthoung District mainly produced shrimps and other aquatic products. The marine products are exported through Yangon to foreign countries. The exported marine products included shrimps, various types of fish, soft shell craps and fish meals to the foreign markets. Currently, the sea fishing industry is still in operation and the marine products export sector has good potential."

It is learnt that the Fisheries Department is making efforts for convenient process of marine products exports in line with the rules and regulations.
