7 Crew Rescued From Damaged Cargo Ship at East China Sea

A small cargo ship named Jixiang 398 lost power about 175 kilometers east of Shanghai.

On Monday, Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Center received a report that there was a multi-purpose ship on fire in the sea area about 95 nautical miles east of Gaodong Airport, and many people on board were trapped.

The situation was very critical. Rescuers had to deal with strong winds and rough water in the rescue zone. All crew members were rescued within half an hour of the helicopters arrival, and the rescue boat remained at the site to secure the Jixiang until it can be towed back to port.
