Japan, Belgium discuss energy, trade collaboration

The head of Japan's Business Federation said Tuesday that nuclear energy was indispensable for Japan to achieve zero-carbon emission by 2050 along with Belgium and other countries.

Masakazu Tokura made the remarks in a speech at a lunch with Belgian business representatives who are visiting Japan under an economic mission led by Her Royal Highness, Princess Astrid of Belgium. Princess Astrid and the nearly 600 Belgian business leaders are scheduled to visit Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto during their time in Japan.
