




Thiri Mingalar Market in Hlaing Township of Yangon Region is flooded with over 1.3 million tons of vegetables and fruits every day.
At the market, over 4,000 stalls are selling vegetables and fruits wholesale. As the cold season has set in, vegetables and fruits arrive abundantly and over 1.3 million tons are traded at the market per day. The 17 acres wide Thiri Mingalar wholesale market is mainly distributing fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers retail and wholesale in Yangon.
Aung Lin Oo, In charge, Thiri Mingalar Market, said " Here, trade has increased as a large amount of vegetables and fruits arrive daily. We conduct arrangements with 40 employees for sellers to be convenient and to reduce traffic jams. We have two shifts to clean the market in accord with theirassigned duties. In the market, Vegetables produced from Nyaung Tone, TetKone, Taung Twin Gyi, Monywa ,PyinOo Lwin and Aung Man cities which are on sales at the market."
Nearly 10 year experienced of selling watermelons at the ThiriMingalar Market U ThetSwe said he bought from Belin, Myit Thar and Tet kone cultivation farms and distributed to all regions and states. Watermelons were distributed three days with a12-wheeler truck.
Thet Swe, Phoe Thar Lay Watermelon sale, said "I cannot raise the price because I sell and distribute to many places. I only gain 200 or 300 kyats for one. Due to the abundance of products, I have to sell out quickly."
As the winter season is coming near, watermelons, avocados, plumps and radishes arrived abundantly in the market.in the previous year, over 14 million products were trading and now at the start of the winter, over 13 million of products have been trading.
