An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 22 November, a combined team led by the Region Forest Department captured a total of 3.59 tonnes of illegal timbers in Pathein Township. On 24 November, an on-duty team under the management of the Customs Department seized industrial materials and consumer goods that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) at the Myanmar International Terminal Thilawa (MITT).

In addition, an on-duty team impounded 2,000 kilogrammes of white small seeds suspected of ammonium nitrate from a Mitsubishi Fuso car heading from Mandalay to Mohnyin. On 25 November, a combined team confiscated a total of 4.52 tonnes of illegal teak windows at the Yadanabon Bridge Combined Checkpoint. A total of 6.94 tonnes of illegal timbers was seized in Thayawady Township.

Therefore, six arrests (estimated value of 56.099 million Kyats) were made on 22, 24 and 25 November, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
