Agriculture Sector: Deputy Minister holds talks with farmers

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi held talks with farmers in Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri townships of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

There, the Deputy Minister stressed that in the current situation, the prices of fertilizers and inputs are increasing along with the international commodity prices, and the local farmers need to invest more capital. At the same time, the good prices of the crops and the increasing market demand are also good opportunities for the farmers.

The Ministry is making efforts from various sectors to ensure sustainable agricultural production without harming the environment, to reduce input costs and to improve yield and crop quality, the Deputy Minister added. He also visited a sunflower plantation in Nyaungpingyisu Village in Pobbathiri Township and the irrigation work site.

Also, the Deputy Minister inspected the rice grinding, cleaning, drying and storage in Seinsarpin စိမ်းစားပင် Village of Zeyathiri Township and gave necessary instructions.
