Healthcare Sector: Union Minister addresses fresher welcome ceremony

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win addressed a welcome ceremony at the University of Medicine 1, Yangon for freshers who will attend the 1st year course at universities under the Ministry of Health.

In his address, the Union Minister expressed words of congratulations to the freshers and stressed that the state will spend millions of kyats to educate the medical students until they become doctors, dentists, and medical professionals, so it is necessary for the medical students to serve as civil servants for 5 years without fail after graduation.

He also urged them to have mutual respect, to improve the ability to communicate with patients, to have high professional skills, to have a correct professional perception and behavior and to know and follow the professional ethics.

After the welcoming ceremony, the Union Minister held a breakfast with the freshers and teachers. And, the Union Minister inspected practical exams in the laboratories for the students of the basic year of medical education (5/2022), classrooms, practical rooms, Anatomical Surgery Training Center and group discussion activity.
