




A commemoration ceremony for the World Children’s Day was observed in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.
Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khaing attended the ceremony and gave a speech.
This year’s theme for World’s Children Day is “Inclusion, For Every Child”, and the Union Minister urged all to create a safety future for the children based on the four rights of children, survival, development, protection and participation. It was followed by the presentation of video clip on the rights of children.
November 20th is designated as the World Children’s Day since it is the date when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. Myanmar became the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) member in August 1991, and has been celebration the commemoration day for 33 times.
