Amnesty Granted: 5774 prisoners including four foreign citizens granted amnesty

The State Administration Council has granted amnesty to 5774 prisoners who were serving their sentences in various prisons/jails including those who have been taken action under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code with the concept of humanitarian grounds and understanding the benevolence of the state in honour of the National Victory Day.

At Insein Prison in Yangon, 985 inmates including four foreign citizens were released on Thursday afternoon. The inmates were given guidance by the Yangon Region Ministers and Regional Police Chief. Among those who have been granted amnesty included 11 artists, 33 with the humanitarian grounds and four foreigners. 

Likewise, the inmates who included in the pardon from the prisons and jails from the regions and states have also released.
