Agriculture Sector: Official fertilizer import, manufacture, distribute, sale

To be able to import, manufacture, distribute and sell fertilizers, the Fertilizer Committee verifies the businesses according to the rules and regulations of the fertilizer law. It’s to issue licenses in order to run businesses. There are over 5,700 licenses issued till the 36th Fertilizer Committee Meeting.

Win Oo, Director, Department of Agriculture said "In fact, over 9,500 fertilizer import, distribution and sale business licenses were issued by the Fertilizer Committee till the 36th Fertilizer Committee Meeting - among them, over 1,500 were canceled by holders themselves and over 2,200 were expired. So, currently, there are over 5,700 licenses for registered businesses.  "

The Director added that the license can be applied through website registration system, and detail fact for applying form process video was uploaded on YouTube. The Fertilizer Committee issues licenses once in every 3 months. The fertilizer import, distribution and sale business licenses need to be extended after 3 years. There are 4 kinds of licenses such as fertilizer manufacture license, fertilizer import license, fertilizer sale license and fertilizer storage license.

The fertilizer registration process is to distribute quality products to farmers and growers with right prices and also to prevent other illegal fertilizer products. The farmers and growers are urged to buy the only registered and effective fertilizers.
