Meeting on Drug Matters: 43rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting in Malaysia

The 43rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia from October 31 to November 3. Myanmar delegation led by Joint Secretary of the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control and Commander of the Drug Enforcement Division Police Brig-Gen Win Naing attended the meeting.

It was also joined by representatives of the Australian Embassy to Malaysia, China, Japan, and Russia, UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia and Director General of the National Anti-Drug Agency opened the meeting and discussed the control, suppression, education, medical treatment, alternative development and research and plans.

Also, the Police Brig-Gen Win Naing, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control and Commander of the Drug Enforcement Division, co-chaired the 7th ASEAN-China Dialogue Meeting. Those present at the meeting also discussed the preparations of Myanmar to host the 44th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters in 2023. The Myanmar delegation returned to Myanmar on November 4.
