Myanmar-Bangladesh: Battalion Commander Level Flag Meeting held

The flag meeting of the Battalion Commander Level between Myanmar and Bangladesh border guards was held at ShahPorir Dwip Ferry Terminal in Taknuf of Bangladesh at 10:30 AM Myanmar Standard Time on October 30, 2022.

The event was attended by six members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) led by Officiating Police Lt-Col Ye Wai Soe of the No 1 Border Guard Police Branch and the eight members of BGB’s Teknaf 2 battalion led by Lt-Col Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar.

During the meeting, they openly exchanged views on sharing information about the bases of insurgents in Bangladesh with location maps, border security, the rule of law, cooperation in combatting terrorists and insurgents who are stationed in border areas, measures to prevent illegal entry/exit, drug seizures of Myanmar BGP on the border in 2022, border security, prevention of illegal entry/ exit, combatting trans-border crimes including drugs and human trafficking based on the existing friendly relations between border forces.
