




The opening ceremony of training (1/2022) on Biometric data collecting which is one of the work processes for the successfully conducting e-ID system implementing by the Ministry of Immigration and Population was held at the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw at 10 AM on 31st October with the attendance of Union Minister U Myint Kyaing, deputy ministers U Htay Hlaing and Dr. Myo thant, Tatmataw senior officers, directors general from the departments, deputy directors general, officials concerned and trainees.
At ceremony, the Chairman of e-ID System Work Committee Union Minister U Myint Kyaing said that Biometric data collecting is a major task which is one of the work processes of e-ID system which is most basic work for e-Government system of the country.The e-ID which is the registration of population with electronic system is for the issuance of 10-digit Unique ID for citizens aged above 10, associate citizens, nationalized citizens, national verification cards holders, foreign registration card holders and permanent residents.
The personal data of over 52 million individual and over 13 million of household lists have been recorded into the server and kept under the cyber security management.During November, biometric data of the government employees in the union territory will be collected through a pilot project, and the process will be followed in regions and states.
The trainees need to pay serious attention on the lectures during the training to be able to open the multiplier courses in the regions and states. After the ceremony, the union minister viewed the practical training on collecting Biometric data for the trainees in the training room.
A total of 57 trainees from the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states and headquarters are attending the training. The training will be conducted for 5 days. After the training, the biometric data of the government employees from the departments and the ministries in Nay Pyi Taw area will be collected, it’s learnt.
