Water supply in Monywa: Over 13,000 water meters have been installed

In cooperation with Sagaing Region Development Affairs Organization and Aqua Pure Company Limited, the water supply process with BOD system has been carried out in Monywa township, since April 2018 and over 13,000 water meters have been installed currently.

Thit Htoo Myint, Director, Sagaing Region Development Affairs Organization, said " We are trying to expand providing water supply in wards of MonywaTownship. Company also provided water purifying system with the cleaning treatment of water from the Chindwin river."

As an advantage, people are available water 24 hours per day and each unit contains 4 and half feet of water with 700 kyats fees.

Soe Min Lat, Factory Manager, Aqua PuraCo.,Ltd, said " We use the lamella system and sand filter to treat the water and then supplied to 18 wards inMonywa. The river water can be turned into clear water is one of the advantages of technology. I think that the local people will benefit from this water supply as well. Also the water meter bill can be paid with prepaid card. The river water is more suitable for cooking and washing clothes than well-water. "

The Chindwin river water was purified step by step with a water treatment system and supplied to the people, and it is the first water supply with prepaid card system in Myanmar.
