Xi urges 'fighting spirit' to meet Congress goals

China's President Xi Jinping, who secured his historic third term, urged members to carry forward the "fighting spirit" of the older generation while visiting the city of Yan'an. on Friday. Yan'an features the history of the 13 years from 1935 to1948 as the headquarters of the CPC Central Committee in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Xi, accompanied by the other six members of the standing committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party central committee, visited the site where the 7th CPC National Congress was held in 1945 and a former residence of late party leader Mao Zedong.
