Legal Sector Translation: Commission, Work Committee & Groups meet

The Legal Translation Commission, Work Committee and Work Groups held the 11th meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry of Legal Affairs. Chairperson of the Commission Union Minister Dr. ThidaOo urged the Work Groups to complete translating the remaining 38 laws into Myanmar in a timely manner.

The Myanmar translation of the Guardians and Wards Act will be published as Book No. (11).Plans are being made to publish again the Myanmar translation of Criminal law attached with the original English version.

In translation, there should be no conflict with the meaning of the original provision. In order to have the essence of the law, it must be interpreted with legal sense, the Union Minister added. This 3-day meeting is set to focus on the Trusts Act and the Negotiable Instruments Act.
