






Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung met departmental officials, Travel Associations and Hoteliers in Kalaw on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said that it is necessary to implement the strategy including in the plan for the implementation of Kalaw as a tourism city in a timely manner. The implementing project is needed to be beneficial for the guests and locals. In implementing the projects, the completions and the annual progresses are necessarily assessed constantly.
The Union Minister then presented the national certification emblems to the hotels in Kalaw that are operating in line with the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol. The Union Minister then visited Taunggyi and held meeting for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises on tourism industry at the Taunggyi hotel.
At the meeting, the Union Minister said that Ministry of Industry is drafting the strategic plan (2020-2030) for the development of MSMEs. The State is carrying out for the production of value-added products based on agriculture and breeding. He called for the development of MSMEs as they can support not only for improving socio-economic life of the state but also for tourism industry.
Later, the State Economic Affairs Minister and attendees made discussion on which the Union Minister fulfilled the needs. The Union Minister also presented national level certification emblems to the hotels in Taunggyi that are operating in accord with the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol.
The Union Minister then met Shan State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun at Taunggyi Hotel and discussed tourism development in Shan State, beautifying of Inle Lake and plans for the development of MSMEs reagrding tourism industry. On Wednesday, the Union Minister viewed around sanitation task in Inle Lake by motorized boat and called for beautifying and long-term sustainability of the lake.
