




Those who have the right for arrangement to use the vacant, fallow and virgin lands need to fully implement the activities within the set period.
Officials from respective levels need to systematically supervise following the provision of the law not to mortgage, offer, sell, rent and hand over or make portion vacant, fallow and virgin lands without the permission of the Union Government and collecting land taxes within the set time, it was said by Chairman of the Central Committee for Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo in the central committee meeting held at the Ministry on Tuesday.
After enacting the 2012 Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Law, the Central Committee allowed more than 180,000 acres of land for the respective agriculture, livestock and business enterprises. The Region, State and Union Territory Land Management Committees have allowed over 220,000 acres and over 410,000 acres of vacant, fallow and virgin lands have been allowed across the nation.
In accordance with the provisions of the regulations, the specified times have arrived and those who have the rights to use the lands need to implement in accordance with the rules and regulations.
At the meeting, the letters with the remarks of the relevant ministries, formation of the special teams to inspect the actual cultivation on the ground, reclaiming lands that are not actually cultivated,paying the land tax to the Myanma Economic Bank by those who have the rights to use the vacant, fallow and virgin lands and collecting land tax issues were discussed.
