Development of National Races: Universities and Colleges opened for the national races

The University of the Development of the National Races of the Union and Nationalities Youth Resources Development Degree Collage are opened for the development of the ethnic people in border regions.

Ministry of Border Affairs comprises of the Department of Development of Border Areas and Ethnic Peoples and Department of Education and Training.

The implementations are underway to train basic and advanced vocational education for the ethnic people at the border regions. There are 44 Ethnic Youth development training schools, 9 mechanical schools and 46 women’s vocational training schools for basic education.

For advanced vocational education, University of the Development of the National Races of the Union (Sagaing) and Nationalities Youth Resources Development Degree Collage (Yangon) are provided and opened.

In 1964, the University of the Development of the National Races of the Union (Sagaing) was founded as Academy for Development of National Groups (ADNG) on 20th October in Sagaing and on 10th May 1991, the ADNG was upgraded to University level.

Besides, University of the Development of the National Races of the Union (Sagaing) and Nationalities Youth Resources Development Degree Collage (Yangon) were opened in 2000-2001 academic year, and then, arts, science and engineer subjects are teaching there.
