COVID-19 Update: 257 new cases reported on October 21

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 257 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 11,051 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s one patient who died due to the disease while 230 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 630,183 with 19,473 deaths and 603,764 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, France, Germany, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and Russian Federation, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:24 pm CEST, 21 October 2022, there have been over 623 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.55 million deaths.
