Tourism Development: Coordination meeting on development of domestic tourism

A coordination meeting on development of domestic tourism was held on Friday, aiming to attract visitors to the tour destinations during the holidays.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung gave a speech, saying that it is needed to make preparations to provide best services in transportation and accommodation for the visitors. He also stressed to implement One village One product, One destination One Product to support the socio-economic development of the local people.

He also called for cooperation of the department, tour organizations and entrepreneurs for SME development in respective tour destinations. The attendees reported on the situation of the arrival of tourists, accommodation and development endeavours.

In the afternoon, Union Minister Dr Htay Aung met with the Chief Commercial Officer of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) and party, and discussed matters on providing assistance for tourism promotion, extended operation of flights routes and cooperation for tourism development works.
