Agricultural Development: Natural & chemical fertilizers scattering ceremony held

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the farmers are cooperating for no loss of water in the irrigation systems, the water requirement at the plantations and use of irrigated water in the fields of irrigation system.

The 120-acre of pilot area for the improvement of irrigation water supply has been implemented through Chaung Ma Nge irrigation system in Lewei Township.

The Nay Pyi Taw council area is implementing as a model region for agriculture-based development and the seeds, inputs and agricultural techniques and technologies on the use of irrigated water are carried out systematically for farmers.

The combination of (1:3) ratio of natural and chemical fertilizers scattering ceremony for 100 baskets per acre yield of monsoon paddy at the 120-acres of farmland in the pilot area for the improvement of irrigation water supply was held at Kha Yan Kaing village-tract in Lewei Township on Wednesday.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi and officials attended the ceremony. During the meeting with local farmers at the ceremony, the Deputy Minister discussed opportunities for farmers to get more profits by applying technology and reducing input costs as well as agricultural development.
