Illegal trade: Timbers, edible oil, industrial materials, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 13 October, a combined inspection team led by the Yangon Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force captured 33.149 tonnes of edible oil without official documents at the Hlinethaya Industrial Zone 3.

On 14 October, an on-duty team under the management of the Customs Department conducted confiscated clear float glasses that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint.

The Myawady (OSS) Trade Zone nabbed 4,000 kilogrammes of galvanized steel pipes that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a vehicle. On 15 October, Myanmar Police Force seized an unregistered ANBO motorbike in Shwebo Township.

A combined inspection team confiscated 50 cartons of duty-free Benson cigarettes from a Nissan car at the Kyeye Combined Checkpoint of Monywa Township.

A total of 39.99 tonnes of illegal timbers was captured in the Toungoo, Nyaunglebin and Thayawady districts. Therefore, nine arrests (approximately 170.108 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days from 13 to 15 October, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
