




Myanmar Federation of Persons with Disabilities (MFPD) under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs held an Honourary Award Presenting Ceremony. It’s to honour 69 athletes with disabilities, 22 coaches and 19 officials who won 14 gold medals at the 11th ASEAN Para Games hosted by Indonesia from July 26 to August 6.
Secretary, MFPD, Chaw Su Hlaing said "Some people with disabilities hardly go outside. Now, the athletes with disabilities won gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games – it’ll motivate the next generations. Most of the disabled want to rely on others like their families or society. Holding the Para Games will make the disabled get motivation and strong emotion."
1 Gold & 1 Silver Medals Winner, Throwing Event, Zaw Min Lwin said "I participated in the grand final competitions of throwing heavy iron balls and throwing iron plate events and won medals. I will try my best to reach the Olympic Games."
1 Silver & 2 Bronze Medals Winner, Throwing Event, Aung Tun Lin said "I won 1 silver medal in throwing heavy iron balls event and 1 bronze medal each in throwing javelin and throwing iron plate events. I want to say to the people with disabilities that try for your families and for the country without desolation. I will continue my efforts to win gold medals."
2 Silver Medals Winner, Track and Field Sport, Law Lar Lar Win said "I participated in the 100-meter and 200-meter Solo Track and Field Para Sport. I won 2 Silver Medals in the 100 meter event. That was my first experience abroad. I want to urge the people with disabilities not to stay only inside because you can make your life better outside. "
Myanmar won 43 medals including 14 gold, 12 Silver and 17 Bronze medals at the 11th ASEAN Para Games hosted by Indonesia.
