Mechanized Farming: Paddy is cultivated by agricultural machinery

The Department of Agriculture has cultivated paddy by using paddy transplanter in Phaya Gyi township of Bago Region.

During the upgrading of farming system from conventional to mechanize system, the Department of Agriculture is conducting measures in jointly cooperation with the Agricultural Mechanization Department.

Zaw Lin, Township Head, Department of Agriculture (Bago) said "The agricultural machinery and the paddy transplanter can reduce the cultivation cost and we try to provide technical support to the farmers. In order to plant paddy with agricultural machinery, the ground needs to be smooth level. There are over 100,000 acres of monsoon paddy in Payagyi township. Over 13,000 acres of summer paddy were planted last year, and we will cultivate over 16,000 acres this year. We are working to increase the cultivated land and to get the water sources by using modern agricultural machinery. "

The Department of Agriculture will provide assistance to the growers to expand their market, increase the income of farmers.
