Russia Trip: Energy Week International Forum in Moscow

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo attended the opening of the Russian Energy Week International Forum in Moscow on October 12.

There, they also visited exhibitions by the Russian companies. The delegation led by Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han received the officials from the JSC "Power Machines" company.

This meeting discussed the company’s manufacturing of hydropower, atomic power and thermal power machines, export to foreign countries including Myanmar, cooperation with Myanmar companies and plans to visit hydropower plants in Russia.

The delegation attended the plenary session of the Forum in which Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a speech. Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo held talks with officials from GASPROM NEFT Company.

They discussed oil and natural gas sector, extraction and investment in Myanmar. The Union Minister also received officials from TANECO Company to discuss investment matters in oil refinery. 

Also, the union ministers met with officials from Rosatom Company which focused on MoU and Road Map made during the 1st trip, outcome before the year-end and plan to visit the generation 3 plus nuclear reactor in St. Petersburg during the next trip.

And, Union Minister U Thaung Han called on the officials to implement the matter of electricity generation from nuclear energy as soon as possible under the Myanmar-Russia cooperation and also cooperation in industrial sector.
