Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum: 90% of upgrading processes completed

For the UNESCO field visit, interior decoration of the Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum is underway and it has now been 90 % completed.

A proposal to put Mrauk-U on the UNESCO World Heritage List was submitted to the UNESCO on 30th September 2021, and concerned officials from the UNESCO will conduct field visit to Mrauk-U in 2023.

Kyi Khin, Director, Dept. of Archaeological & Nat’l Museum said "Currently, we are upgrading the Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum regarding display areas, cabinets and renewal of the captions and taps of displayed items. Also, we are still working to upgrade the lighting system and on the QR code system."

Using with QR code system, visitors can easily study ancient pagodas in Mrauk-U cultural zone. It’s reported that the Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum is set to be reopened in November or December this year.
