Peace Dialogue: Peace Talks Team, KNU/KNLA-PC and DKBA Meet

The meeting of the Government Peace Talks Team and the delegations of the Karen National Liberation Army (Peace Council) KNU/KNLA (PC) and the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by State Administration Council Member, National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Chairman Union Minister at the Government Office in his capacity as the leader of the Peace Talks Team Lt- Gen Yar Pyae, Council Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naung, Commander-in-Chief Saw Steel of the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA, Chief of Staff Saw Sein Win, Vice Chair Dr. Naw Kapaw Htoo of the KNU/KNLA (PC) and General Secretary Saw Kyaw Nyunt. At the meeting, Lt-Gen YarPyae and on behalf of ethnic armed organizations, Commander-in-Chief of DKBA Saw Steel extended greetings respectively.

During the meeting, NSPNC member Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein presented the list of Union legislation -Table 1 and the list of regional or state legislation- Table 2 in the 2008 Constitution sector-wise and NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naung interpreted the phased implementations- Table 2 and post-2020 levelized procedures.

Then, the attendees mutually discussed their opinions and closed the first-day meeting. The second day meeting will be held on 16th August.
