Development Works: Chief Minister Presides Over Coordination Meeting

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win on Thursday presided over a coordination meeting on development works in townships in the fiscal year of 2022-2023. The Chief Minister said that the development works rely on tax.

He urged attendees to ensure that the tax money that should be received is settled and collected. There is a need to ensure that there is no abuse of tax money and that tax rates should be appropriate to the times. Development committees directly interact with the public, and every activity of the committees must be mindful of the government's image, and they must behave politely.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need to reduce the use of plastic bags and speed up the COVID-19 vaccination activities in markets. Regarding the development works project proposals in the upcoming financial year, he called on concerned officials to make field trips. The meeting continued with reports on development works by officials from 28 development committees and plans. It’s reported that the Bago Region Government provided over 8 billion Kyats for development works regarding road, bridge, water access and township beautifying.
