Illegal Trade: Illegal chemicals, consumer goods and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th of September, illegal restricted chemicals, computer accessories,  edible oil, juice, foodstuffs, consumer goods and timber were seized at the Nyaungkhashay junction in Waw township, at the Yangon Central Railway Station and at the container checkpoint of the Asia World Port Terminal  as well as in Phayagyi Township and on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway, at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint and in Kengtung Township and in Natmauk township.

In total, illegal chemicals, consumer goods and timber worth over 331 million Kyats were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
