Discussion with IOM: Union Minister held meeting with IOM head of mission

The Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettle Dr. Thet Thet Khine held a meeting with the International Organization For Migration-IOM head of mission (Myanmar) at the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on September 9.

During the meeting, the status of strong cooperation between the ministry and IOM in the many operational fields, the status of coordinating to sign MoU with the department of disaster management and matters to provide humanitarian assistances for the internal displaced persons, the ministry’s implementations to provide necessaries for the displaced persons in Rakhine, Chin, Kayah, Magway, Shan State (South), the government’s arrangements for the repatriation of displaced persons in Rakhine State and the implementation of Rekhine State Development Project by signing MoU with India were discussed.

The meeting were also attended by the deputy minister U Aung Tun Khaing, permanent secretary and directors general from the related departments, its’ reported.
