Green energy plan: 5 Charging Stations to construct along YGN-MDY Highway

To be able to charge the electric cars, E.V Charging Stations will be constructed at five places along Yangon-Mandalay Expressway such as No. 3 Intersection, 115 Miles Phyu Rest Camp, Nay Pyi Taw Council Intersection, Thi Kone Rest Camp and ZakarInn Intersection as the pilot project. 

Director (Urban), Highway Maintenance and Supervising Group, Kyaw Moe Oo said "The very 1st charging station will be constructed inside the Toll Gate staff housing campus located at 1 mile, 1 furlong on No.3 Intersection. The second station is to be installed at 115miles Phyu Rest Camp. The third one will be inside the rest camp at 201 miles, Nay Pyi Taw C-Interaction. And the fourth will be in the ThiKone rest camp between 284 and 285 miles while the fifth one is to be installed in ZakarInn rest camp at 352 miles. "

He added that Highway Maintenance and Supervising Group provides land areas while concrete paving works, car parking and station installations will be conducted by the Company side.  At the same time, 50 electric cars will be able to charge per station. 

Director (Urban), Highway Maintenance and Supervising Group, Kyaw Moe Oo said "There is electricity group at the Department of Buildings under the Ministry of Construction. From there, Chief Engineer is leading the tasks including the available electricity sources. And, the targeted five areas have access to electricity already, but sufficient amount of required volts is needed to be implemented. "

It is learnt that, there are 11 designated places including 5 pilot project areas. While sky rocketing global fuel price, cost of gasoline price for the transportation of the people will sharply reduce by using electric vehicles and implementing charging stations.
