World First Aid Day 2022: Skills Competition conducted by MRCS

In a commemoration of World First Aid Day 2022, a skills competition was conducted by Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee under the Myanmar Red Cross Society at Kyeikkasan Basketball Stadium in Bahan Township, Yangon on 8th September.

Chairman, Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee, Kyaw Moe Kyi said "World First Aid Day is celebrated on Saturday of the 2nd week of September annually.  We celebrate skills competition to commemorate the World First Aid Day. There are individual competitions, double competitions and quadruple competitions in first aid skills competition. There are also transporting patient using stretcher competitions. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and championship trophy will be presented to the winners."

Thiha Aung, Mingalardon Township said "I tried my best to perform how to cure the forearm and head injured patient. I tried my best as I participate in this competition representing my township. I think everyone should learn first aid skills to be able to give treatment to their injured family members immediately in case the accidents happen."

Yoon Wai Lwin Thant, Thingangyun Township said "I competed in a woman individual first aid competition. I did a performance of giving treatment to right forearm injured patient.  To become a member of red cross society, we have to sacrifice ourselves to provide the people who are in need and we have to follow the 7 fundamental principles of red cross society."

Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee will award the skills competition winners at a World First Aid Day 2022 celebration which will be held on 12th and 13rd September.
