Invaluable Myanmar Artworks: Myanmar Handicraft Center showcases various items

Myanmar Handicraft Center was opened by the Small-Scale Industries Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development on 5th February this year. At the center, the products of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) including galleries of the department are displayed and put on sale.

Aung  Kyaw San, Businessman (MSME) said "Most of the handicrafts from this center are value-added products and produced by using waste materials. I believe that we can implement a handicraft marketplace one day here."

By opening the handicraft center, it can create opportunities and develop for private business sector in local. Only the registered MSME businessmen at the Small-Scale Industries Department are allowed to showcase and sell their products in the center. The licenses have to be renewal after 2 years.   

Tin Tin Mar, Deputy Director, Myanmar Handicraft Center (YGN) said "Due to innovating and producing new handicrafts of the businessmen, the Myanma handicraft market can be developed and it can create more job opportunities. At the center, various kinds of handicrafts from all regions and states are sold with authentic prices and good qualities. "

Many items such as handicrafts, jewelleries, lacquer wares, weaving clothes, invaluable Myanmar arts and crafts which are made of gold, silver, bamboo and cane are showcased at the center.
