Mask Campaign: YRTC Distributes 10,000 Masks To Pubic

In order to prevent the spread of COVID 19 pandemic, Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) conducted the mask campaign near Sule and Thingangyun bus stops, on Tuesday.

The activity aimed to decrease the rate of COVID-19infection in Yangon Region and YRTC distributed masks free of charge to the people in order to encourage them to wear masks.

LyanCinMang, Secretary, YRTC said “Yangon Region Chief Minister held a meeting for COVID-19 control and emergency response. The spreading of COVID-19 disease is about 3% in Yangon region so that the Chief Minster gave instructions us to conduct measures for declining the outbreak. So, we made a mask campaign and also instructed to YBS companies not to allow the passengers who do not wear the masks riding on the buses. On the other hand, we’d like to request the passengers to wear masks for theCOVID-19 prevention and control measures.”

YRTC distributed a total of 10,000 masks to YBS passengers, taxis drivers and public near the bus stops.
