Rural Development: Crops cultivation and concrete paving of roads inspected

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe and party met with departmental personnel, townselder and mung bean growers in Wakema of MyaungMya District in Ayeyawady Region on Saturday.

The Deputy Minister explained the plans for growing mung bean and summer paddy, budget allotment and cooperation works between the ministry, organizations and farmers. He also urged for successful implementation of sunflower cultivation in the region.

It is learnt that over 7,600 farmers will cultivate 23,000 acres of mung bean in six cultivated areas in Wakema Township. The Deputy Minister and party later met with the staff of the ministry, and coordinated the requirements. They then inspeted the concrete paving of InnMa-KhaYayKan Road, being carried out by Pantanaw Township Rural Road Development Department.

The project is being implemented with the alloted budget of the Union in 2022-2023 fiscal year and it could benefit around 13,000 people from 22 villages. They also inspected the concrete paving of rural production road that could benefit over 900 farmers from 3 villages.
