Illegal Trade: Illegal consumer goods, machines and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 1st and 2nd of September, illegal consumer goods, foodstuffs, sewing machines and teak, hardwood and timber were seized at the Yadanabon Bridge Combined Checkpoint in Sagaing Region, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint in Kayin State and in the North Zarmayi forest reserve of Thayawady district.

In total, illegal consumer goods, machines and timber worth over 71 million Kyats were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
