The 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition is underway in regions and states.

In Bago Region, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win attended the Competition opening ceremony at the town hall in Bago, and urged the contestants to preserve the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts and try hard to gain success in the state-level competition.

This opening ceremony included performances and the Chief Minister presented cash awards to the performers. In Bago Region, 139 artistes and enthusiasts are competing in this 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition.

Objectives of the Competition are to uplift national prestige and integrity, to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics, to discover, preserve and uplift the traditional cultural heritage of performing arts of ethnic nationals and national cultural characteristics, to preserve traditional cultural performing arts in order to further revitalize adoration of the State and hand it down to new generation youths and to contribute to the restoration of perpetual peace.
