Illegal Trade: Illegal Consumer Goods, Vehicle And Timber Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 29th, 30th and 31st of August, illegal liquor, consumer goods, industrial materials, vehicle, timber, cartons of playing cards and teak were seized on the Hakha-Gangaw Road and at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint as well as in Butalin Township, Taungup and Thandwe townships and on the Taungdwingyi-Pyinmana down mail train, on the Mandalay-PyinOoLwin Road and in Minhla Township. In total, illegal consumer goods, vehicle and timber worth over 399 million Kyats were confiscated.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
