COVID-19 Update: 87 new COVID-19 cases reported on August 30

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 87 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing 8,902 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 72 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 615,117 with 19,437 deaths and 593,567 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
