








Mekong-Lancang project datacenter that was constructed with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2018) was launched at Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics in Nay Pyi Taw Dekkhina District on Tuesday. At the event, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo said that the Mekong-Lancang project data center will link exchange of the project information indicators on agriculture, livestock, fishery, and rural sectors through the data exchange corridor between the countries in the Mekong-Lancang region.
The center will implement the tasks for the skill enchancement of the staff who will serve in the center and drafting frameworks communicating between one country and another. By opening the data center, it will promote practices and experiences such as collecting digits for food production, listing and scrutinizing and will strengthen cooperation among the countries.
Although the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund Project (2018) was planned to be implemented until 2021, the project period has been changed until 2022 due to the global epidemic. Afterwards, the Chinese Chargé d'Affaires ad Interim extended greetings and the Vice Chairman of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Project (2018) Coordination Team reported on work processes of the project.
The Director General of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics reported on food security, information assessment and plan for establishing an statistics corridor on agriculture and rural area to provide index.
The Union Minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the Chargé d'Affaires ad Interim and officials sprinkled scented water on the bronze plaque of the center and viewed around there.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is implementing 31 projects with Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund and the data center is a part of the project.
