



The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is endeavouring for getting investments and job opportunities to expand livestock breeding, applying advanced technologies and quality strains, to develop the value chain of animal feed production and livestock products including the comprehensive implementation of farm breeding while producing animal feed.
Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi and departmental officials looks into nurturing of quality cows and sheep, reproduction, storage, distribution, production of Nitrogen liquefied gas and opening training for breeders at the Livestock Development Unit (PaungNgu) in Pyinmabin village-tract of Mingaladon Township on Sunday.
Similarly, the Deputy Minister inspected functioning processes of Paung Ngu Beekeeping Division and discussed requirements for cooperation with private sector, producing traditional medicines that can support for consumers, and helping the breeders to extend beekeeping as a commercial one.
The Deputy Minister and party then inspected measures for plant tissue culture by applying biotechnology, recording the crop gene with DNA technology, upgrading crop strains and producing new strains and capacity enchancement of the staff.
During the meeting with officials of the Plant Biotechnology Center, the deputy minister called for effective applying of biotechnology for the development of agriculture sector and upgrading of the Plant Biotechnology Center as the National Level Plant Biotechnology Department. In the evening, the Deputy Minister and party visited dairy cattle research centre and demonstration farming Mingaladon Township and looked into growing of animal feed plants.
