Illegal Trade: Illegal materials, consumer goods and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 23rd, 25th, 26th and 27th of August, illegal industrial and construction materials, consumer goods, vehicle spare parts, masks, medicines, teak blocks, electronic products, edible oil, energy drinks and timber were seized at the MaYanChaung Permanent Checkpoint, at the Asia World Container Port inspection point and at the Myanmar Industrial Port inspection point as well as in Hlegu Township area and at the Thanlwin Bridge combined checkpoint and in Taungoo District.

In total, illegal materials, consumer goods and timber worth over 681 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
